Mark Halvorsen

Owner and Principal Broker

Mark and his wife Kate founded Village Properties at Sunriver in 1985. Mark is the owner and principal broker of Village Properties.

“Working at Village Properties allows me the opportunity to surround myself with hardworking, caring and honest individuals who share the same vision I have: Provide great service while doing the right thing for those people we work with and we work for,” says Mark.

Mark brings a strong work ethic to the table that allows him to help support the team effort. This gives the Village Properties team confirmation at the end of the day that they have done the right thing to make owners, clients and customers successful. This philosophy brings the success full circle.

Mark is proudly an active local of the Central Oregon and has taken on many different roles to help contribute to our great community:

• Cofounder of Sunriver Vacations and the annual Pacific Crest Sports Weekend

Mark attended the University of North Dakota on a swimming scholarship and graduated with degrees in Political Science and Sociology. Mark and Kate raised their son, Mitchell, in Sunriver, who loves coming home to visit his family, including his dog, Beck, and cat, Jack.

The Halvorsen family moved to Sunriver for many reasons. From the people of Central Oregon that Mark believes are a pleasure to work with to enjoying the outdoors, including biking, water and snow skiing and walking their dogs along the Deschutes River, Mark and his family enjoy the climate and outdoor activities all year long in Sunriver. Mark loves that Sunriver caters to families and family values. Sunriver encourages people to enjoy the outdoors and share those moments with family and friends at the end of the day.

Mitchell Halvorsen

General Manager and Real Estate Broker

Mitchell joined Village Properties at Sunriver as a broker in fall 2019. As a Central Oregon native, Mitchell’s clients benefit from his unparalleled knowledge of the area. He attended Three Rivers Elementary (Sunriver, OR), Bend High (Bend, OR), and the University of Oregon (Eugene, OR) and can provide personal insight into the Central Oregon area schools, which is beneficial to young families or families new to the area. Mitchell is a third-generation realtor, and loves the additional experience that his roots provide him. He is excited to utilize his inherent knowledge of Central Oregon and the industry to his client’s benefit.

When Mitchell isn’t showing a property or negotiating on his client’s behalf, you can find him hiking, biking, snowboarding, water sports, and anything else outdoor related. You should definitely ask him where the best spots are for floating the Deschutes River and areas for various winter sports - he has the scoop!

Jonathan Ball

Real Estate Broker

Jonathan moved to Central Oregon in 2011.  He has 4 sons who all attended the local K-8,  Three Rivers School (Go Otters!).

Jonathan spent the first 20 years of his career in the hospitality industry before transitioning to real estate.  His experience with customer care translated well to the real estate world.  He really enjoys working with buyers and sellers and has a keen focus on the client experience.  He says, “This is a people business and we just happen to sell houses.” When he’s not working, you can find him enjoying the myriad of outdoor activities that Central Oregon has to offer.

Michael Maizel

Real Estate Broker

Michael grew up on the Oregon coast and moved to Central Oregon in 2016. He loves this area and plans on continuing to raise his two boys here. Michael enjoys the abundance of recreational activities and endless beauty of Central Oregon, especially playing in the lakes and rivers during the summer. Michael has been an active real estate agent since 2018 and loves helping people in his community.
